Red Devils thumped Foxes

Mikhtaryan ‘s masterclass saw United  comfortably sailing over the Foxes , Leicester City, in their own den, the KingPower stadium. The game which was stagnant for almost the entire first half , without much creativity from either side, registered the first goal on 44 minutes after a Mikhtaryan superb run through the middle of the park which ended in a classic finish, giving United hope and resolve. The game ended in a 3 -0 hammering of Leicester City.

The result left Leicester battling for their survival , given that they are sitting on 21 points , just 2 points ahead of bottom placed Sunderland. On the other hand , a win means United goes on 45 points, two points behind 4th placed Arsenal who are on 47 and one point behind fifth placed Liverpool. As it is , the contention for a top four spot is tighter than anyone could imagine. It’s never too late though, with 14 games to play, teams can still battle for glory.

At the bottom of the log it’s also a rat race with six teams separated by only a point or two. They are also fighting hard to escape the imminent tragedy of relegation, it’s really a dog eat dog situation , only the fittest will survive.

The premier league is coming back in action this coming weekend, with the leaders Chelsea taking on Burnley , Manchester united taking on Watford, Arsenal taking on relegation threatened Hull City, Liverpool taking on Spurs , which is probably the biggest fixture of the weekend. The outcome of those fixtures will greatly impact on log positions, cementing others’ hopes for glory and condemning some to destruction.

The 2016 /2017 League will be probably one of the best in the league’s history given the intensity of competition among the teams in every level of the log.
